You can see I have placed this in the water, but you can face the same issue for grounded plants too.

In my case, one side of the leaf was turning brown and it looked like a rotting leaf.

I want to clear the myth of overwatering first.

Lucky bamboo loves to stay in the water, so there is no chance of getting any diseases due to overwatering. The roots can get infected but that's not because of overwatering. Due to algae and fungi, you face face issues but not for overwatering.

The quality of water matters not the overwatering. You should always use chlorine-free water. So if possible use non-chlorinated bottled or packaged water.

For this particular plant, in a hurry, I give it chlorinated purified water.

They don't like direct sunlight so always place your lucky bamboo in a place where it can get indirect sunlight.

Do not give it fertilizer frequently. Fresh water is enough for the lucky bamboo and it produces its energy from sunlight and components in the air. Give liquid fertilizer 3 times a month. (Only 3-5 drops each time)

Pro tip: Do not forget to spray water on the leaves of your lucky bamboo every day in the morning.

Spraying water almost defeats most of the diseases. I have more than 20 lucky bamboos and I do experiment on those by creating separate environment and separate caring methods. Believe me, it really helps.
