If your Lucky Bamboo Plant's tips are turning brown (leaf tip) then you need to check the water that you are giving your plant.

This plant is actually not a bamboo plant. This is a Dracaena.

Most of the articles and videos on the internet on this topic say a lot of reasons behind the brown leaf tip of lucky bamboo. Yes, theoretically there might be a lot of reasons behind this but it's not possible for us to counter all of those by ourselves.

So in this article, I will let you know the exact major reason for the brown leaf tip on lucky bamboo.

What did I notice? Symptoms of brown leaves tips on Lucky bamboo

Yes, the tips of the lucky bamboo leaves will start turning brown.

You may find a single leaf tip brown or a few of your leaves. If you are lucky enough then this will not spread. Otherwise, these brown leaves can spread quickly to other healthy leaves.

The plant will remain normal and the only symptom you can notice is brown tips. The brown part will gradually spread to the lower part of the leaf. You can also say, the leaves will dry from the top.

You can notice the brown leaf tip even if the leaf is not old enough.

Reason for brown tips and how to fix it - Lucky Bamboo

The main culprit is the chlorine in the water. If you are applying tap water or chlorinated water to this plant, then a brown leaf tip is guaranteed. Lucky bamboo hates chlorinated water.

I was giving tap water to that plant (Seeing in the picture) and the tips started getting brown.

You can use underground water if you can (avoid that if the water is having iron). But the best you can do is to give bottled water or distilled water.

If you are following the above method of watering and still you are getting brown leaf tips, then make sure you place the plant where it will only get indirect sunlight. This plant does not like direct sunlight.

Try giving liquid fertilizer in a smaller quantity than you usually give. If you are not giving then start giving.

Note: You can not turn a brown leaf portion green again. But you can cut the leaf tip in a triangle shape so that it does not look bad at all.

If your lucky bamboo is planted in soil, then check if you are overwatering or underwatering. In my experience, underwatering can make the leaf tip brown and overwatering will make the lucky bamboo leaves yellow.

In a gardening community I got this picture, she was facing the same issue. But this one planted in the soil instead of water.
