What is Frizzle Top?

Frizzle top is a condition commonly affecting palm trees, particularly queen palms, characterized by a distinct withering or fraying of the newer fronds.

How you can get rid of Frizzle Top on your Date Palm or any other Palm Trees?

If you want a short and straight-to-the-point answer then here it is:

The symptoms you are seeing in the picture is a manganese deficiency called Frizzle Top. It’s treated with manganese and copper applied to the crown. Your local garden store should have what you need and tell you how to do it.

Caused by a lack of manganese.

When treated with Epsom Salt, this will clear it up.

Without proper treatment, the palm's overall growth can be severely impacted, and the tree may become more susceptible to other diseases or pests.

You can literally apply any manganese supplement to the soil. But for the accurate quantity consult with the shopkeeper and also let him know the size of your plant. He will surely help you out.

Another major reason is the excessive amount of chemical fertilizer in the soil. You can stop applying any kind of fertilizer for a month or two to see differeneces.

Bonus tip: Remove highly damaged fronds to improve the tree's appearance. But do not over-prune, as this can stress the tree further.
