Identify the actual reason behind brown leaves on Avocado and treat accordingly
You are growing this plant so you are well aware of the fertilization, watering, and other caring steps you are taking. This will be helpful in identifying the reason after I explain the reasons based on symptoms and caring methods.
I have created short information on this so that you can easily identify the reason based on what kind of brown leaves you are witnessing.
Symptoms | Possible Reasons |
---|---|
Brown tips on leaves | Underwatering or low humidity |
Brown edges with curling | Salt buildup in soil or over-fertilization |
Large brown spots | Sunburn due to direct intense sunlight |
Brown patches spreading | Fungal infection like anthracnose |
Entire leaf turns brown and dry | Severe underwatering or root damage |
Brown spots with yellow halos | Leaf scorch or bacterial infection |
Brown and mushy leaf sections | Overwatering causing root rot |
Another major reason is the chemical damage or over-fertilization. In this case, you will also notice leaves are curling and shrinking and then turning brown.
Stop using any chemical fertilizer for the next month. Instead use organic compost.
